Laccase is a kind of polyphenol oxidase having potential in applications for pulp bleaching, waste water treatment in mills, and removal of phenols in the food industry. The normal laccase from fungus or bacterial contains four copper atoms per protein molecular, imparting a blue color. Here it is reported that a white laccase is produced by a white rot fungus Panus conchatus from its solid-state fermentation. The activity center of this laccase is Cu2FeZn, which lacks the typical type-1 blue copper color. The polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis of purified laccase showed a main polypeptide with a molecular weight of about 60 kDa. Laccase substrate 2,6-dimethoxylphenol and others, such as syringaldazine, o-tolidine, and ABTS, were readily oxidized, among which the Km for syringaldazine was the highest. The isoelectric point of this enzyme was 3.6 and it was stable at temperatures below 45°C over a wide range of pH (4-12).

2LiBH(4)/MgH2 system is a representative and promising reactive hydride composite for hydrogen storage. However, the high desorption temperature and sluggish desorption kinetics hamper its practical application. In our present report, we successfully introduce CoNiB nanoparticles as catalysts to improve the dehydrogenation performances of the 2LiBH(4)/MgH2 composite. The sample with CoNiB additives shows a significant desorption property. Temperature programmed desorption (TPD) measurement demonstrates that the peak decomposition temperatures of MgH2 and LiBH4 are lowered to be 315 degrees C and 417 degrees C for the CoNiB-doped 2LiBH(4)/MgH2. Isothermal dehydrogenation analysis demonstrates that approximately 10.2 wt% hydrogen can be released within 360 min at 400 degrees C. 摘要:
Prostate cancer is one of leading causes of male deaths in Europe and US and is becoming a dramatically increasing malignancy in Asian countries including China. This disease is related to hormone malfunction linked with androgen receptor cell signaling. Targeting androgen receptor has been a major strategy for treating this disease. Among these treatments, small molecules such as flutamide, bicalutamide and newly FDA-approved MDV3100 are the mainstay of drugs in clinical use. Interestingly, all of them are fluorine-containing compounds, indicating a unique role of fluorine atom on treating this cancer. In this mini-review, we summarize the prostate cancer-related cell signaling, chemistry and mechanisms of action of these drugs, highlighting the importance of fluorine chemistry on treating prostate cancer. A series of polyimide composites with various mass fractions of multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWNTs) were prepared by in situ polymerization. To increase the chemical compatibility of carbon nanotubes with the polyimide matrix, MWNTs were treated with an acid mixture and sulfoxide chloride in turn. The modified MWNTs are dispersed homogeneously in the matrix while the structure of the PI and MWNTs are stable in the preparation process. The composite films hold preferable thermal stability the same as the pure PI. The composite films exhibited good thermomechanical properties. The storage modulus increased significantly by increasing MWNT content and decreasing the enhancement of temperature. The films' glass transition temperature increased with enhancing of MWNTs frictions. The dielectric constants of the composites decrease with increasing frequency and increase sharply with the adding of MWNTs, which is favorable for practical use in anti-static materials and embedded capacitors.

A displacement method of detecting hydrogen sulfide in aqueous media based on complex L–Cu ensemble is developed. Once combined with Cu2+, complex L–Cu displayed high specificity for sulfide anion. Among the various anions, only sulfide anion induce the revival of fluoresecence of compound L, which is quenched by Cu2+, resulting in turn-on type sensing sulfide anion. Complex L–Cu exhibits a highly sensitive fluorescent response toward S2− by releasing compound L to give a remarkable change with 20-fold fluorescence intensity enhancement under 2 equivalent of S2− added in Tris–HCl/ DMF (20 mM, 6/4, v/v), and also exhibits a dynamic response range for S2− from 5×10−7 to 5×10−6 M, with a detection limit of 0.18 μM. In addition, the turn-on fluorescent change upon the addition of S2− is also applied in cell imaging.

A fluorine-containing polyimide(FPI) was synthesized by reacting 4,4'-(hexafluoroisopropylidene) diphthalic anhydride (6FDA) with 2,2'-bis-(trifluoromethyl)-4,4'-diaminobiphenyl (TFDB). A series of polyimide composite films with various contents of nanosilica were prepared by an in situ polymerization technique. The obtained composite materials were analyzed with FTIR and the results showed that the amino groups were completely imidized. The morphology of the composites was characterized with SEM and the results indicated that the nanosilica particles integral dispersed but micro-aggregated in the fluoro-contained polyimide matrix if the nanosilica content excessed 10 wt %. The nanocomposite films were found to hold comparable thermal stability with the pure fluoro-contained polyimide film. The humidity absorption rate decreased with the increase of silica content. The dielectric constant of fluoro-contained polyimide/ nanosilica films decreased with increasing the frequency and exhibited an arch curve profile with its maximum value of less than 3, indicating the excellent dielectric property.

A series of novel bis-Schiff base were synthesized from 1-aryl-3-methyl-4-benzoyl-5-pyrazolones and diethylenetriamine (or triethylenetetramine) as the starting materials. All of these bis-Schiff bases were characterized by means of NMR, IR, and MS. The UV-vis absorption spectra and fluorescent spectra of these bis-Schiff bases were also measured. Moreover, the B3LYP/6-31G(d) method was used to optimize the ground state geometry of the bis-Schiff bases; and the UV-vis spectroscopic properties of the products were computed and compared with corresponding experimental data based on cc-pVDZ basis set of TD-B3LYP method. It has been found that all of these bis-Schiff bases show a remarkable absorption peak in a wavelength range of 270-340 nm; and their maximum emission peaks are around 348 nm.
