LiVOPO4/carbon composite materials were prepared at amoderate temperature of 400°C by oxalic acid assisted sol-gel technique and acetylene black acting as a carbon source. The as synthesized composite materials were characterized by XRD, SEM, galvanostatic charge-discharge and CV measurements. When tested at 0.1 C rate for Li ion insertion properties, α-LiVOPO 4/ carbon composite material exhibits good cycle capability with an average capacity degradation of just 0.05 mAh/g per cycle.
