As a global polynomial optimization problem, the best rank-one approximation to higher order tensors has extensive engineering and statistical applications. Different from traditional optimization solution methods, in this paper, we propose some Z-eigenvalue methods for solving this problem. We first propose a direct Z-eigenvalue method for this problem when the dimension is two. In multidimensional case, by a conventional descent optimization method, we may find a local minimizer of this problem. Then, by using orthogonal transformations, we convert the underlying supersymmetric tensor to a pseudo-canonical form, which has the same E-eigenvalues and some zero entries. Based upon these, we propose a direct orthogonal transformation Z-eigenvalue method for this problem in the case of order three and dimension three. In the case of order three and higher dimension, we propose a heuristic orthogonal transformation Z-eigenvalue method by improving the local minimum with the lower-dimensional Z-eigenvalue methods, and a heuristic cross-hill Z-eigenvalue method by using the two-dimensional Z-eigenvalue method to find more local minimizers. Numerical experiments show that our methods are efficient and promising.

摘要:
Influence of retrogression and re-aging treatment on the microstructure, strength, exfoliation corrosion, inter-granular corrosion and stress corrosion cracking of an Al-Zn-Mg-Cu alloy has been investigated by means of optical microscope (OM), transmission electron microscope (TEM) and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS). The results show that retrogression and re-aging treatment can increase the size and the distribution discontinuity of the grain boundary precipitates, and lead to the increase of the corrosion resistance without the loss of strength and ductility. In addition, the analysis of electrochemical impedance spectroscopy shows that retrogression and re-aging treatment can enhance the resistance to exfoliation corrosion. 摘要:
We report that the hydrogen-bonding pattern in a molecular beacon can be replaced by metal-dependent pairs of Hg(2+) and DNA thymine ( T) bases. A molecular beacon based on T-Hg(2+)-T exhibits a lower background signal and higher thermostability than regular molecular beacons.

An improved moving least-squares (IMLS) approximation for the field variables is proposed for geometrically nonlinear large deformation analysis of functionally graded carbon nanotube (FG-CNT) reinforced composite quadrilateral plates. The plate considered is of moderate thickness and, hence, the first-order shear deformation theory (FSDT) and Von Karman assumption are adopted to incorporate the transverse shear strains, rotary inertia and moderate rotations. The CNTs are assumed to be uniaxially aligned in the axial direction and functionally graded in the plate thickness direction. The discrete nonlinear governing equation is derived based on the IMLS-Ritz method. The modified Newton-Raphson method combined with the arc-length iterative algorithm is employed to solve the nonlinear deformation of the FG-CNT reinforced composite quadrilateral plates. Improvements in computational efficiency and elimination of shear and membrane locking are achieved using a stabilized conforming nodal integration scheme to evaluate the system's bending stiffness. Through detailed parametric studies, CNT distribution, CNTs volume fraction, aspect ratio and thickness-to-width ratio and different boundary conditions are demonstrated to effect significantly on the large deflection behaviors of the quadrilateral FG-CNT reinforced composite plates. We consider a mathematical model which describes the frictional contact between a deformable body and a foundation. The process is quasistatic, the material is assumed to be viscoelastic with long memory and the frictional contact is modelled with subdifferential boundary conditions. The mechanical damage of the material is described by the damage function, which is modelled by a nonlinear partial differential equation. We derive the variational formulation of the problem, which is a coupled system of a hemivariational inequality and a parabolic equation. Then we prove the existence of a unique weak solution to the model. The proof is based on arguments of abstract stationary inclusion and a fixed point theorem. (C) 2010 Elsevier Ltd. 摘要:
This paper presents a framework for finite-time global synchronization of Markovian jump complex networks (MJCNs) with partially unknown transition rates, time-delays and stochastic noises. Several criteria for finite-time global synchronization are given by using the stochastic analysis techniques and matrix theory. These criteria provide a feasible approach to design linear feedback controller and to compute finite-time of global synchronization for the addressed MJCNs. Four numerical examples are given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the theoretical results.

A novel hyper-cross-linked polymeric adsorbent modified with acetylaniline as the cross-linked bridge (denoted GQ-02) was synthesized for the enhanced removal of bisphenol A (BPA) from aqueous solution. Its chemical structure and pore structure were characterized by infrared spectroscopy and surface area analysis. Results showed that the adsorption capacity of BPA onto GQ-02 was larger than that of the commercial resins NDA-150, H103, NDA-88, NDA-99, and XAD-4 due to the cross-linked bridge of acetylaniline uploaded on GQ-02 resin. The solution pH had no significant effect on the adsorption capacity until it was higher than 6.39. The adsorption rate of GQ-02 was greater than that of H103 because of the longer cross-linked bridge between two benzene rings. The adsorption isotherms could be correlated to the Langmuir equation. More favorable adsorption of BPA onto GQ-02 than H103 was further demonstrated by thermodynamic analysis. Nearly 100% regeneration efficiency for GQ-02 was achieved by 80% ethanol and 0.5 mol/L NaOH. Conventional decoupling approaches usually employ first-order reliability method to deal with probabilistic constraints in a reliability-based design optimization problem. In first-order reliability method, constraint functions are transformed into a standard normal space. Extra non-linearity introduced by the non-normal-to-normal transformation may increase the error in reliability analysis and then result in the reliability-based design optimization analysis with insufficient accuracy. In this article, a decoupling approach is proposed to provide an alternative tool for the reliability-based design optimization problems. To improve accuracy, the reliability analysis is performed by first-order asymptotic integration method without any extra non-linearity transformation. To achieve high efficiency, an approximate technique of reliability analysis is given to avoid calculating time-consuming performance function. Two numerical examples and an application of practical laptop structural design are presented to validate the effectiveness of the proposed approach.

The aim of this paper is to get the decomposition of distributional derivatives of functions with bounded variation in the framework of Carnot-Caratheodory spaces (C-C spaces in brievity) in which the vector fields are of Carnot type. For this purpose the approximate continuity of BV functions is discussed first, then approximate differentials of L~1 functions are defined in the case that vector fields are of Carnot type and finally the decomposition Xu = ▽u·L~n + X~su is proved, where u ∈ BV_X(Ω) and ▽u denotes the approximate differential of u.

A novel fluorescent probe was synthesized and studied. Fluorescent probe 1 undergoes a unique Pi induced hydrolytic reaction in DMSO- HEPES at physiological pH that produces a colorimetric change associated with a 76 nm red-shift in the UV-vis absorption maximum and up to a 210-fold enhancement in the fluorescence intensity. It has successfully been used to stain and record microscopy images of HeLa cells. Moreover, the mechanistic proposal that these spectroscopic changes are associated with the reaction of Pi and probe 1 to form 2-(2-hydroxyphenyl)benzothiazole gains support from the results of mass spectrometry studied.
