We propose a 5-D representation of DNA sequences based on the classifications of the four basic acid bases A,T,G, and C. The use of the 5-D representation is illustrated by constructing sequence invariants based on the entries in derived sequence matrices restricted to a selected width of a band along the main diagonal.
