天津以独具的文化品格和历史内涵影响了20世纪中国文学的面貌。＂津派＂作家通过对天津历史传统与现实的对比,表达出对乡土天津的认同与怀念;新文学作家以租界为表现对象,凸显天津城市化进程中的＂现代性＂,揭示出现代都市社会生活对人的＂异化＂;当代＂津味＂小说家将叙述空间置于清末民初时期的天津,追求以奇为美,构筑起具有＂传奇＂色彩的天津形象。＂传统性＂、＂现代性＂和＂传奇性＂的天津书写,实质上是不同类型作家,从不同角度对天津这座城市的各自发现与真实表现,是以文学形式将自己情感体验表达出来的过程。
