Based on the orthogonal method for the antenna pattern synthesis of linear arrays, some constraint conditions are proposed to implement a constrained orthogonal synthesis. The proposed method simplifies the calculation due to the orthogonalization in unconstrained orthogonal approach, and it helps to realize the pattern synthesis of uniform or nonuniform linear arrays.
