午社在民国后期颇具代表性。午社成员专心于填词,其词作大多关注民瘼,忆京津往事而述乱世流离,将遗民情结转化为民族精神,抒发对沦陷区的同情。同时,受现代文明和新文学创作的影响,午社成员乐于享受现代文明带来的愉悦,尝试接受新文学尤其是新诗带来的自由,在一定程度反映了民国后期旧式文人的心态。

Wu Community whose members concentrated on the composition of Ci, was quite representative of the late Republic of China. The Ci poetry was mostly concerned with the weal and woe of the people, recalling the past events of Bejing and Tianjin, describing dislocation in chaos, turning the adherent complex into national spirits and expressing sympathy for the enemyoccupied area.
