改革开放以来，我国城市规划理论研究与规划实践工作均取得了长足发展，但比较而言，我国城市规划理论研究相对薄弱、滞后，尤其是对规划的本体论、价值论、方法论等哲学与书法论的研究至为匮乏，“这是我们这一代以及几代规划师不能违避的现实”。本期以“城市规划哲学与方法论”为主题，旨在投石击浪，启迪广大读者对基础理论研究的作用取得共识，产生兴趣，认真思索、总结、梳理和升华，共同构建我国城市规划理论体系，再行之有效地指导我国城市规划实践工作。
