In order to predict the surface subsidence, the improved model slope test was used to record relationship between the time and volumetric water content under constant rainfall intensity. In this study, the volumetric water content is defined as the initial quasi-saturated volumetric water content (theta(iqs)). It is found that when the volumetric water content exceeds the initial quasi-saturated volumetric water content, the increase rate of volumetric water content changes again and promotes displacement.
