Abandoned tailings are one of the important sources of heavy metal pollution in regions surrounding mining areas. In this study, the speciation and kinetic characteristics of Mn and Pb were analyzed in waste rocks from a manganese mining area. The results show that under different experimental conditions, Mn mainly occurs in the residual state and the iron-manganese oxide-bound state, accounting for more than 90%, and Pb mainly occurs in the residual state, accounting for more than 99%.
