晚清民国文人结社众多,成为该时期不可忽视的文学现象、历史现象和社会现象。影响晚清民国文人结社的因素复杂,其中科举制度为文人结社提供了现实可能,上海等大都市为文人结社提供了安身立命的栖身之所,历史事件刺激着文人士子的心灵而结社吟咏,近代报刊则推动文人结社跨越时空的局限。当然,文人结社也有偶然因素,并且在偶然条件下成立的文人结社对区域文学带来了深远的影响,亦是需要加以关注的。
