中国古代通俗小说比其他文体更具有城市文学的属性,对中国古代城市文学研究具有非常典型的标本意义.《明末清初西湖小说研究》在古代城市文学研究的空间思维、"人—地"意识、城市个性分析等方面做出了有益的探索,对中国古代城市文学研究富有启示.
