In Yueyang dialect the passive voice sentences with the Chinese character word “落[nuo5]” is often used.“落[nuo5]” evolves from the word meaning suffering like Mandarin Chinese and many Chinese dialects Yueyang dialect. Its specific evolution is:“脱落(fall off)>掉落(drop out)>遭受(suffer)>被动标记(passive mark)”. The typical sentence format of the passive sentence with “落” is “NP1+落+NP2+VP”.
